Job Posting: Experienced Crusher Operator
Location: Remote Fly-in Camp, Nunavut
Rotation: 3 weeks on, 3 weeks off
Background Checks: Drug & Alcohol screening and criminal record check will be conducted
Tamatta Mining & Construction is currently recruiting on behalf of one of our reputable clients for an experienced Crusher Operator.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Uphold health and safety protocols by adhering to company policies and acting responsibly at all times during shifts.
  • Primarily operate the crusher, with occasional operation of other heavy equipment such as loaders or rock trucks to move, load, and process materials like earth, rock, and gravel in a safe manner.
  • Complete daily shift documentation, including equipment inspections, load sheets, and hazard assessments.
  • Conduct pre-operation checks, including cleaning, lubricating, and refilling fluids for machinery.
  • Participate actively in pre-shift safety briefings and meetings.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within equipment cabs.
  • Follow all safety standards, regulations, and site-specific rules.
  • Engage in any required on-site training sessions.
  • Perform general labor tasks as needed to support the team.
Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum of 5 years of crusher operation experience in a mining or heavy civil construction environment.
  • Knowledge of heavy civil and mining operations, including loading and hauling.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Proven safety record, with experience working within a safety-focused culture in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working in remote mining or industrial sites is essential.
  • Self-driven with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willing to travel for work assignments.
  • Physically capable of lifting at least 50 lbs., standing and walking for extended periods, and performing physically demanding tasks.
  • Able to maintain high performance levels during 12-hour shifts.
Preferred Certifications:
  • Valid safety tickets such as First Aid/CPR, TDG, and Fall Protection are highly desirable.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Daily blended rate of $600-$700, based on a 12-hour shift, experience, and certifications.
  • Travel to and from the project site from Edmonton, Alberta, or Yellowknife, NWT, is required, with a travel allowance provided.
  • Rotation schedule of 3 weeks on-site, followed by 3 weeks off.
