Job Summary:
Were seeking a Business Analyst Intern (Co-op) to help us better understand and improve how our organization operates. You'll lead a discovery process to assess our internal tools, systems, and workflows, and work directly with staff to surface operational pain points. Your work will shape a roadmap for smarter systems, better collaboration, and more efficient use of resourcesand set the stage for a follow-on Data Analyst Co-op who will help bring your recommendations to life.

You will work with both the Productivity Team at Calgary Economic Development and the Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) team. The Opportunity Calgary Investment Fund (OCIF) helps ensure our shared future by finding opportunities, funding those opportunities, and fostering economic success for the benefit of all Calgarians.

This is a 12-week Term.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Audit existing tools, platforms, and workflows across departments
  • Conduct interviews and research to identify inefficiencies and gaps
  • Create process maps and identify key friction points
  • Research affordable tools or process improvements to support team capacity
  • Prepare a needs assessment and roadmap for future implementation
  • Support early-stage adoption of tools or help complete existing tool rollouts

Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a university or college co-op program in a related field
  • Strong research, analysis, and communication skills
  • Comfortable talking with staff and documenting processes
  • Interest in systems thinking, operations, and organizational strategy
  • Experience with platforms and tools like WizeHive, PowerBI, Google Notebook, Microsoft CoPilot, Dynamics 365, Big Query, Monday.com

TECHNATION Career Ready Program Eligibility:

  • Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment;
  • Enrolled in a program at an accredited Canadian Post-Secondary Institution
  • Pursuing a tech-immersive career (you can still be a student studying arts, business/marketing etc.
  • International students are not eligible participants.
