Salary: $120,000-$130,000 + Annual bonuses, benefits, RRSP matching, and more

About the Opportunity:


As an intermediate Estimator, you'll play a key role in driving the success of major infrastructure projects. Working closely with the estimating team, you'll analyze drawings and specifications, prepare detailed cost estimates, and contribute to winning bids for high-profile construction projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where no two days are the same—whether you're reviewing project proposals, collaborating with subcontractors, or strategizing on how to deliver efficient, cost-effective solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Analyze project drawings, specs, and contract documents to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Prepare estimates for unit rate, lump sum, and design-build projects.
  • Participate in constructability reviews, staging, and scheduling discussions.
  • Perform detailed quantity take-offs and cost breakdowns using HeavyBid software.
  • Identify risks, cost-saving opportunities, and areas requiring clarification.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers, soliciting competitive quotes and ensuring compliance with project requirements.
  • Assist in preparing and submitting bid proposals.
  • Maintain databases of historical costs, subcontractor relationships, and market trends.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, bid opportunities, and project leads.
  • Support site teams during project execution when needed.
What You Bring to the Table:
  • A diploma in Civil Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating in water treatment/waste water.
  • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, perform quantity take-offs, and use estimating software (HeavyBid is a plus).
  • Ability to identify project risks and propose effective solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
  • A keen eye for accuracy and the ability to multitask under tight deadlines.
  • A deep understanding of the industry and a drive to contribute to high-impact projects.
  • Must be legally eligible to work in Canada (no sponsorship available).
