The Opportunity
We are currently looking to hire aShop Mechanicon a Permanent Part-time basis. Reporting to the Shop Manager, the Mechanic will maintain and complete repairs on a variety of equipment including vehicles, trailers, chain saws, string trimmers, push mowers, snow blowers, ride-on mowers, snowplows/pushes, sidewalk sweepers and more.
Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):
Performs preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on all vehicles, trailers, and equipment to ensure assets are kept in good working order and that all proper maintenance is undertaken to protect warranty.
Repair and troubleshoot issues and damage to vehicles, trailers, and equipment, restoring to safe operational condition for the Service Delivery Team.
Inspect vehicles, trailers, and equipment to ensure they are operational and in safe working order prior to releasing them to Service Delivery.
Analyzes mechanical and operational problems of vehicles, trailers, and equipment through observations, reviewing daily logbooks, and operator feedback.
Maintain paperwork and documentation to ensure record-keeping of all maintenance/repair activities is completed in a timely manner, is accurate, and properly schedules vehicles, trailers, and equipment for ongoing maintenance/repairs.

Key skills:
Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot mechanical and operational problems and develop preventative maintenance schedules as required.
Ability to operate various types of vehicles, trailers, and equipment (including string trimmers, push mowers, snow blowers, ride-on mowers, snowplows/pushes, sidewalk sweepers, chain saws etc).
Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Conscientious, thorough, accurate, and reliable when performing and completing job tasks.
Goes to the source of the problem occurrence to determine root cause and generates logical solutions.
Follows safe work practices and rules, recognizes, and promotes hazard and risk reporting.
Challenges the status quo; looks for more efficient ways to get results.
Education and Experience:
Minimum of High School Diploma or GED.
2-5 years of progressive experience in commercial property maintenance and snow removal (or related industry).
Valid Class 5 Drivers License is required with a clean Drivers Abstract.
Possessing your own tools is an asset but not required.
