Overview
Metric Design is seeking a skilled and experienced Studio Operations & Finance Manager to oversee the daily operations of our growing design studio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, values organization and structure, and enjoys supporting a creative team through detailed administrative, financial, and HR management.
This position plays a pivotal role in ensuring our studio runs efficiently and supports the operational needs of both Metric Design and our tech-forward sister company, MetricLy.

Responsibilities
- Manage daily studio operations, ensuring smooth workflow and professional client experience
- Full-cycle bookkeeping, including AR/AP, payroll, GST, reconciliations, and CRA remittances
- Financial reporting, invoicing, and cost tracking
- Coordinate purchase orders and manage supplier relationships and inventory logistics
- Oversee ordering and vendor coordination for both Metric Design and MetricLy
- Maintain inventory levels, organize supply needs, and implement internal systems
- Handle payroll and employee records management
- Support recruitment, onboarding, and training processes
- Oversee HR administration: policy implementation, timesheets, vacation tracking, reviews
- Manage internal scheduling and communications
- Format contracts and support office-wide documentation
- Provide basic IT and office systems support
- Motivate and support a collaborative studio culture
- Support sales initiatives related to studio offerings and service promotions
Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years of experience in admin/bookkeeping, ideally in a service or project-based business
- Experience with HR administration and confidentiality protocols
- Proficient in QuickBooks Online and Microsoft Office
- Comfortable managing purchasing logistics and high-volume vendor coordination
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Proven ability to juggle varied tasks and improve systems proactively
- Prior management or supervisory experience is an asset
- Familiarity with the design, architecture, or wellness industry is a plus
Job Details
Job Type: Full-time (3–5 days/week with flexible scheduling and hybrid options)
Location: Saskatoon, SK S7K 1N5 (in-person with some remote work flexibility)
Salary: $55,000–$65,000 per year
