Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator to join our estimating team, focusing on Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) projects across the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical construction projects, ensuring alignment with project specifications, timelines, and client requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and bids for ICI electrical projects, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
• Analyze drawings, specifications, and other documentation to develop accurate estimates.
• Conduct site visits and pre-bid meetings to assess project requirements.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to obtain accurate pricing and technical information.
• Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
• Maintain and update estimating databases and tools.
• Track and analyze historical cost data for use in future estimating.
• Assist with value engineering and provide alternative solutions to reduce costs without impacting quality.
• Prepare tender and bid documents, including scope of work, inclusions, exclusions, and clarifications.
• Stay informed of industry trends, market pricing, and competitor activity.

Qualifications:

• 35+ years of experience in electrical estimating within the ICI sector.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, codes, and construction practices in Ontario.
• Proficiency with estimating software (e.g., Accubid, Trimble, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Construction Management, or related field is an asset.
