The Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated QC Level 1 / Turnover Coordinator to join our team at Kearl Oilsands. The QC Level-1 / Turnover Coordinator will be responsible for supporting quality control activities and managing documentation for system turnovers on-site. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all work complies with project specifications, codes, and client expectations. This position will work a 14/14 rotation, 12 hours per day, with charter flights provided from either Calgary or Edmonton, with flight allowances based on the province located.

- Assist in the preparation and execution of system turnovers.
- Track and compile turnover packages including ITPs, test reports, weld logs, NDE records, and redline drawings.
- Conduct inspections and quality verifications in accordance with project standards and procedures.
- Ensure all documentation meets client and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate with field teams, engineering, and client representatives to resolve quality issues and expedite turnover activities.
- Maintain accurate records and support audits as required.
Key Skills
- Proficiency in interpreting construction drawings, welding symbols, and isometric plans.
- Knowledge of codes and standards (e.g., ASME, CSA, API).
- Experience with QA/QC documentation workflows and turnover package compilation.
- Familiarity with inspection and test plans (ITPs), hydrostatic and pneumatic testing.
- Strong computer skills including MS Office and turnover systems (e.g., Aconex, SmartPlant, or equivalent).
- Effective communication and coordination skills with multidisciplinary teams.
- High attention to detail with the ability to track and maintain accurate records.
- Problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach to field issues and documentation
- CWB Level 1 certification with 1+ years of experience.
- Turnover Documentation and Document Control.
- Civil, Mechanical and Piping experience is an asset.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to handle a multitude of concurrent tasks.
- Good computer skills, especially in the use of MS Office and Google Docs
- Self-motivated, organized and able to work in a high-pressure, deadline-driven environment.
- Understands Quality Inspection Procedures, Tools and Equipment
- Knowledge of ASME, ABSA, and CSA codes and client standards structure.
- Must be legally eligible to work in Canada
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol test
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
