Job Description:

Dacaro Services is seeking a AS400 Engineer with deep expertise in IBM Power Systems and enterprise storage technologies to support a leading Canadian banking client. This role involves managing and upgrading mission-critical hardware platforms, ensuring high availability, and leading inter-site data replication and backup strategies.

Responsibilities:

• Lead the implementation, configuration, and support of IBM P924 Servers, DS8910F storage frames, TS4500 Tape subsystems, and Brocade Switches.
• Administer and upgrade IOS 7.5 – 7.6 operating systems and associated configuration policies.
• Design, configure, and automate High Availability LPARs using POWERHA and IASP Toolkit scripting.
• Manage and optimize IBM Copy Services Manager, Global Mirror, and FlashCopy for data replication and backup processes.
• Support MQ Series configurations and ensure integration with high-availability environments.
• Plan and execute complex infrastructure refreshes and software upgrades across both hardware and software platforms.
• Collaborate with internal teams to implement best practices in enterprise storage, high availability, and disaster recovery.

Required Skills & Experience:

• Expert-level experience with IBM Power Systems (P924), DS8910F, TS4500, and Brocade networking.
• Strong hands-on experience with POWERHA for local and remote failover configurations.
• Proven ability in scripting and automation using the IASP Toolkit.
• Solid working knowledge of IBM Copy Services Manager, Global Mirror, and FlashCopy.
• Experience with IOS 7.5 – 7.6 upgrades and configuration.
• Background with MQ Series messaging systems in a high-availability environment.
• Track record of leading hardware/software upgrade projects and implementing HA/DR strategies.

Nice to Have:

• Experience with QEDDSoftware for data replication/reporting.
• Financial services or banking industry experience.
