Job Description

The Opportunity:

An exciting opportunity for a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team in a fast-paced, high-volume packaging manufacturing facility. You'll oversee day-to-day maintenance operations, champion a preventive maintenance culture, and ensure equipment uptime while driving safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Direct supervision of maintenance technicians, laborers, and a maintenance planner.
  • Oversee repairs and upkeep of all plant equipment, including HVAC, chillers, air compressors, and building infrastructure.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Schedule and assign daily maintenance tasks and manage work order completion.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and drive timely corrective actions.
  • Monitor inventory and purchase necessary materials, tools, and parts.
  • Ensure safety standards and compliance with OSHA regulations.
  • Train and mentor staff; coordinate with contractors and assist with capital projects.
  • Provide input on long-term maintenance planning, budgets, and emergency response strategies.
  • Promote a collaborative, safety-first environment and maintain effective communication with all departments.

What You'll Need To Be Successful:

  • Minimum 5 years of management experience in a trade or engineering-related function.
  • Background as a maintenance technician, electrician, or mechanic in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and PLC systems.
  • Proven experience in fast-paced, high-volume environments with frequent changeovers.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure and lead by example.
  • Proficiency in MS Office; experience managing maintenance budgets and vendors.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles (5S, Six Sigma, TPM) is an asset.
  • Engineering degree or trade certification (Millwright or Electrician) preferred.
