The Registered Massage Therapists' Association of British Columbia (RMTBC) is the professional body for massage therapists in British Columbia. The association represents the majority of the province's massage therapists, negotiating with key institutions such as the Medical Services Plan, Insurance Corporation of BC, and Workers' Compensation Board. RMTBC actively promotes the benefits of massage therapy through research, media relations, advertising, and publications. The association also offers various services, including a website, toll-free line, and marketing materials, to support its members and inform the public.
Role Description
This is a full-time hybrid role as an Associate Director located in Vancouver. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Associate Director will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operations, managing staff, developing and implementing strategic plans, and ensuring effective communication with stakeholders. Key tasks include coordinating research projects, managing membership services, liaising with government agencies and insurers, and promoting the profession through various media channels. The role requires strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills to effectively represent the association and advance its objectives.
Qualifications
- Leadership, Team Management, and Organizational skills
- Experience in Strategic Planning and Project Management
- Strong Communication and Public Relations skills
- Knowledge of Healthcare Sector and Massage Therapy
- Experience with Research Coordination and Analysis
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Healthcare Management, or related field
- Experience working with government agencies and insurers is a plus
- Ability to work as required on-site in the Vancouver Area
