Position Summary:

We're seeking a skilled Senior Fire Alarm Technician with a deep understanding of fire alarm systems, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to lead by example. This role requires technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and a commitment to delivering dependable, high-quality service.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Conduct inspections, tests, verifications, and repairs on fire alarm and life safety systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting and resolve issues on both addressable and conventional systems.
  • Install, wire, and program new fire alarm panels and devices.
  • Ensure timely completion of detailed inspection reports, including identified deficiencies.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, providing clear explanations and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Participate in after-hours on-call rotations to provide emergency support.

Service Work & On-Call Responsibilities:

  • Senior Fire Alarm Technicians are expected to handle a wide variety of service calls, accurately diagnosing system issues and delivering effective solutions.
  • Building trust and maintaining strong customer relationships are key aspects of this role.
  • While on-call, technicians are responsible for responding promptly to after-hours service requests and independently addressing critical issues.

Qualifications:

  • CFAA Certification (Canadian Fire Alarm Association) with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
  • Conduct annual, semi, quarterly and monthly inspections on fire alarms, smoke control, elevator fire controls.
  • Expertise in fire alarm systems, including troubleshooting and resolving ground faults, testing relays, auxiliary devices and correcting open circuits.
  • Familiarity with wiring, programming and installation of fire panels.
  • Accurately complete and submit inspection reports, detailing any deficiencies.
  • Address and resolve fire equipment deficiencies as identified.
  • Proficient with iPads or other mobile reporting tools; experience with Inspect Point is an asset.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Valid G driver's license with a clean abstract.
  • Residency in the GTA is preferred.
