The Job!

As the Director of Finance, you report to senior leadership and oversee financial operations. You will:

  • Lead financial processes regarding statements, accounting, reporting, cash flow, etc.
  • Manage financial reporting for the business including sales, gross margin, operational expense, and profitability.
  • Lead preparation and coordination of reports and ensure accuracy of the data and findings
  • Oversee compliance with sales and corporate income taxes in collaboration with the Tax department
  • Develop and implement risk control strategies and initiatives to mitigate risks
  • Review, maintain, and improve internal controls in alignment with regulations and best practices
  • Monitor financial risks including supply chain disruptions and market fluctuations
  • Ensure accuracy of cost analyses, financial planning, and quarterly balance sheets
  • Develop and execute strategies to enhance business performance with market trends in mind
  • Manage the hiring and training of financial department employees in alignment with business goals
  • Create and drive financial projects including process improvements and upgrades
  • Provide insight into financials, business initiatives, and opportunities to enhance growth
  • Conduct contract reviews and negotiations to ensure cost efficiency and optimal agreements
  • Other tasks as required to ensure efficient and effective financial operations

What you bring to the job

The ideal candidate is experienced and knowledgeable in managing business finances. They are well-accustomed to team leadership and strategy development and execution, with an innovative and solutions-focused approach. They also come with:

  • A bachelor's degree in finance or business and CPA designation are required
  • MBA is highly preferred and a strong asset
  • At least 10 years of experience in finance with leadership of finance and accounting teams
  • Expertise In financial reporting, risk management, internal controls, IFRS compliance, audits, and regulatory reporting
  • Strong technical skills and experience with SAP, QuickBooks, and/or other ERP systems
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills as well as problem-solving, analytical skills, and leadership capabilities.
