Our established client in London Ontario is adding a Logistics Supervisor to their team.
The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for leading the full scope of delivery operations,
overseeing a team of Delivery Coordinators, in-house Drivers, and third-party service providers.
This hands-on leadership role ensures seamless execution of deliveries, driving performance,
accountability, and customer satisfaction.
The Logistics Supervisor will optimize routing practices, maintain compliance with safety and
operational standards, and champion continuous improvement across the logistics function. In
addition to managing daily operations, this role plays a key part in fleet management, vendor
oversight, cost control, and strategic planning to support business growth and service
excellence.
Duties and Responsibilities
Lead a team, including Delivery Coordinators, Drivers, and external delivery partners, to ensure
safe, compliant, and timely execution of all deliveries.
Drive operational performance through hands-on leadership, workforce planning, route
optimization, cost control, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality
and efficiency.
Develop and mentor team members, providing performance feedback, managing scheduling,
and ensuring all staff are trained on SOPs, safety regulations, and customer service standards.
Oversee third-party delivery contracts, holding vendors accountable for service levels, KPIs, and
performance reporting while ensuring seamless coordination across internal and external
teams.
Minimum Qualifications and Skills
Post-secondary education in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related
discipline required; additional leadership training or certifications (e.g., PMP, Six Sigma)
is an asset.
5+ years of logistics or transportation experience, including 3+ years in a people
leadership role with accountability for frontline teams and contract/vendor
performance.
Demonstrated success in managing cross-functional logistics teams and third-party
logistics providers, including experience with service-level agreements and vendor
scorecards.
Strong working knowledge of routing software, dispatch systems, and ERP/MRP
(Microsoft NAV preferred) tools, with advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data
reporting.
Proven ability to lead through change, resolve conflict, build strong team culture, and
deliver results in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Working Conditions
The Logistics Supervisor work occurs primarily in an indoor, temperature-controlled warehouse
and office setting.
Physical Requirements
The Logistics Supervisor spends part of their shift seated at a desk using the computer and part
of their shift on their feet: stand/walk for full shift as well as lift, push, pull, carry, or otherwise
move objects of varying weights regularly. Occasionally will be required to lift to 40 lbs.,
unassisted, and bend, twist, and reach to move supplies or other items.
