Position OverviewBigGeo is seeking a Product Owner with advanced UI/UX design expertise to lead product development and interface design from concept to execution. This hybrid role combines product ownership with hands-on Figma work, making you responsible not just for what we build, but how it looks and feels. You'll work closely with engineering, leadership, and customers to deliver intuitive, data-rich geospatial tools—leveraging AI to accelerate feature discovery, user insights, and design iteration.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and evolve the BigGeo product roadmap, prioritizing features and user experiences that align with strategic goals and customer needs.
- Translate product ideas into wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity Figma designs that guide development and improve usability.
- Serve as the design authority for BigGeo: maintain visual standards, create reusable components, and document UI patterns.
- Lead product discovery efforts, validating concepts through mockups, clickable prototypes, and iterative feedback loops.
- Leverage AI tools (e.g., for user feedback clustering, rapid prototyping, data summaries) to inform product and design decisions.
- Collaborate with the CTO, developers, and data scientists to ensure designs are technically feasible and aligned with system architecture.
- Run agile ceremonies (sprint planning, stand-ups, retrospectives), ensuring tickets are clearly scoped, prioritized, and tied to user or business outcomes.
- Conduct competitor analysis and usability reviews to refine design direction and identify areas for innovation.
- Engage with users directly to gather feedback and incorporate insights into design iterations and backlog grooming.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years experience in a Product Owner, Product Designer, or hybrid role in a fast-paced SaaS or startup environment.
- Advanced Figma skills: capable of designing and prototyping full user flows, managing design systems, and collaborating across functions using Figma as a source of truth.
- Demonstrated experience shipping intuitive, beautiful, and functional interfaces—ideally with complex data or mapping layers.
- Deep understanding of UX principles, accessibility standards, and responsive design best practices.
- Experience working with AI-enhanced workflows, whether through product features or internal design/PM tools.
- Ability to translate user and business requirements into clear, testable user stories and acceptance criteria.
- Familiarity with agile methodologies and comfort leading cross-functional delivery teams.
- Proficiency with product and collaboration tools (e.g., Monday.com, Asana, Slack, GSuite).
- Comfortable juggling multiple initiatives, design iterations, and stakeholder inputs in a dynamic environment.
