As a Material Analyst, you will be part of a dynamic team responsible for ensuring smooth material flow, coordinating between production and suppliers, and implementing efficient inventory control strategies. Responsibilities

  • Inventory Management: Ensure optimal inventory levels in a JIT environment, conduct cycle counts, and resolve discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
  • Procurement & Logistics: Expedite purchased components, audit supplier releases, and coordinate inbound/outbound freight to support production.
  • Supplier Coordination: Address delivery issues, track supplier performance, and implement corrective actions for discrepancies.
  • Process Improvement: Review and update Bills of Material, identify opportunities for accuracy improvements, and implement best practices.
  • Compliance & Support: Maintain safety and environmental standards, support inventory programs, and provide backup within the Inventory Group as needed.

Requirements:

  • Completion of a Community College Diploma or a University Degree in Supply Chain Management or related discipline
  • A professional designation in either Materials or Purchasing (i.e., CPIM or APIC)
  • Completed related APICS courses will be asset.
  • Minimum 3-5 years related experience in automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Must have strong background in SAP.
  • Familiarity with computer routings and Bills of Material.
  • Strong skills in Manufacturing Control Systems, Windows, MS Office programs, with heavy emphasis on Excel.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data and evaluate results; proven aptitude for working with numbers.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify and interpret complex issues and implement sustainable solutions.
  • Computer literacy in other MRP / ERP scheduling systems, purchasing systems & cycle-count systems, as well as business applications and web-based ordering systems.
  • Knowledge of Import / Export procedures and Customs regulations.
  • Excellent English communication skills (both written and verbal).
