Position Title: Global Director, Business Systems & IT

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

Location: Scarborough, Ontario / occasional travel to other global locations

As Head of the IT function this role will lead the company's IT strategy and operations across all regions. This role is responsible for ensuring the alignment of IT initiatives with business goals, managing global IT infrastructure, and driving innovation to support the company's growth and efficiency.

KEY DELIVERABLES

  • Develop and implement a global IT strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives.
  • Oversee the management of IT infrastructure, systems, and applications across all regions.
  • Lead and mentor a diverse team of IT professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure the security, reliability and scalability of IT systems.
  • Develop and enforce IT security policies and procedures to protect the company's data and systems from cyber threats.
  • Drive digital transformation initiatives to enhance business processes, operational productivity and customer experiences.
  • Monitor and analyze IT performance metrics, making data-driven decisions to optimize operations.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and external providers.
  • Develop annual operating and capital budgets required to deliver the IT strategy

Specific current initiatives requiring leadership:

  • Optimization of the global Infor 10.7 ERP system and associated workflows to deliver business efficiencies.
  • Implementation globally of Kinaxis Demand and Capacity Planning.
  • Implementation of Disaster Recovery Plan to complete the enhancement of system security across the company
  • Implementation of the IT organization plan for support, maintenance and enhancement of business applications
  • Working with the Global Director Technology & Engineering, integrate data structures and tools with the company's ERP system.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CAPABILITIES

The ideal candidate will possess the following experience, knowledge, skills, and attributes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience managing IT resources, operations and teams in an engineering, manufacturing and/or distribution environment; and experience with complex Bills of Materials (BOM).
  • Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and enterprise applications.
  • Team-oriented leadership, effective conflict management, and exceptional influencing skills with a bias for action in a matrixed environment.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute tactically.
  • Experience with digital transformation and integration of relevant innovations and risk management safeguards into the IT strategy.
  • Experience working globally with a large support offshore workforce.
  • Capability to simplify complex problems, conduct root cause analysis and provide clear, well-thought-out recommendations.
  • A high degree of personal initiative, as well as outstanding interpersonal, teamwork, listening, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Builds and mentors a high-performance team, effectively manages fiscal, human and operational resources.
  • Ability to travel to global locations.
