Job Description

Manage from IT Projects within the Applications, Digitalization, and Infrastructure portfolios

Work within IT Project Management Office (PMO) guidelines and responsibility for resourcing, planning, executing, controlling, and closing projects using the NOVA Chemicals IT Project Methodology.

• Create and manage a project schedule, reporting late tasks and % completion.

• Lead and coach project team members through development of project deliverables and methodology.

• Manage and escalate project issues in an effective and timely manner.

• Monitor project metrics for significant deviations in quality, cost, or schedule and report monthly.

• Manage external resource relationships, strategic partners, and project team members during the life cycle of the project.

• Travel periodically to NOVA locations (in Canada) as dictated by project requirements.

• Adhere to NOVA IT policies, procedures, and methodologies. 1.2. Required Skills and Qualifications

Required Experience:

Minimum 10+ years in IT project management with a focus on software implementations.

• Project Methodologies: Proficiency in Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall methodologies.

• Vendor Management: Strong experience managing third-party software vendors and contracts.

• Risk Management: Expertise in identifying and mitigating project risks.

• Stakeholder Management: Proven ability to engage, communicate, and manage expectations with diverse stakeholders.

• Technical Acumen: Understanding of software development, system integrations, and IT infrastructure.

Certifications (Preferred): PMP, CSM, or equivalent. 1.3. Project Scope /DeliverablesThe Project Manager's responsibilities include but are not limited to: Project Planning & Execution

• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including scope, schedule, budget, and resources.

• Define project objectives and deliverables in alignment with business needs.

• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.Vendor Management

• Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.

• Define vendor deliverables, track performance, and ensure contractual compliance.

• Collaborate with vendors to resolve issues and ensure alignment with project goals.Risk & Issue Management

• Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.

• Develop contingency plans to address potential roadblocks.

• Escalate critical risks and issues to stakeholders with recommended solutions.Stakeholder Communication & Management

• Serve as the primary point of contact between project teams, business units, and executive leadership.

• Communicate project status, risks, and decisions through regular reports and meetings.

• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure stakeholder alignment.Quality & Compliance
