About the Role:

Cogency Inc. is seeking a skilled and proactive OpenShift (OCP) Administrator to support and manage the deployment, configuration, monitoring, and optimization of OpenShift Container Platform environments. This role will be instrumental in enabling scalable, secure, and high-performing containerized workloads across our enterprise infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain Red Hat OpenShift clusters (on-premise and/or cloud-based).
• Manage container orchestration using Kubernetes and Docker within OpenShift.
• Monitor and ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of OCP environments.
• Administer OpenShift projects, pods, services, and routes, ensuring proper access control and resource allocation.
• Handle troubleshooting, patching, upgrades, and backup for OpenShift and associated tools.
• Work closely with DevOps, application teams, and infrastructure teams to support deployment pipelines and containerized applications.
• Maintain and improve CI/CD integration, leveraging tools like Jenkins, GitLab, or ArgoCD.
• Implement security best practices, RBAC policies, and compliance standards in OCP.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Ansible, Shell, or Python for repetitive tasks.
• Document infrastructure processes, configurations, and system architecture for future reference and audits.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 3–5+ years of hands-on experience in OpenShift administration and Kubernetes.
• Strong experience with Linux system administration, preferably RHEL.
• Proficient in container technologies (Docker, Podman) and image registries (Quay, Harbor).
• Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines and GitOps principles.
• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack.
• Hands-on knowledge of OCP security, TLS, authentication/authorization, and logging.
• Experience with scripting languages: Shell, Bash, Python, or Ansible.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and hybrid OCP deployments is a plus.

Nice to Have:

• Red Hat certifications (e.g., EX280 – Red Hat Certified Specialist in OpenShift Administration)
• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform.
• Experience working in financial or regulated industries.
• Exposure to service mesh technologies (e.g., Istio).
