General Job duties will include:
- Food Preparation: review daily menu to identify immediate cooking requirements as well as any items that can be prepared for next day requirements to be prepared in advance.
- Refer to appropriate recipes if required.
- Prepare and cook items scheduled for the days menus.
- Inventory monitoring/management.
- Assess current available stock to identify items that need to be re- ordered based on rate of utilization.
- Note these items on communication board so that they are included in the next order.
- Assist as required with the processing of all deliveries to the kitchen.
- Food Plating and Service.
- Ensure plates are placed in warming tray prior to all meal service.
- Plate food using appropriate service size utensils.
- Review list of residents requiring a minced diet and mince food as required.
- Assist residents in the completion of their weekly meal selection.
- Kitchen Maintenance and Cleanliness- ensure all equipment is cleaned after each use.
- Identify and potential problems and inform management so that a service call can be arranged.
- Other duties as assigned based on the needs of the business.
- TASKS ( may vary based on scheduled shift)
- Complete bake or food prep for next day
- Make sandwiches for dinner.
- Sweep and mop kitchen and dining room floors.
- Wipe down kitchen counters and sanitize high touch areas.
- Check board for extra duties for that day.
- Prepare 2 desserts for next day service
- Cook food as required.
- Clean prep area
- Ensure freezer air temperatures are checked and recorded daily
- Ensure all cooking surfaces are thoroughly cleaned and prepared for next days use
