Martin Recruitment is a startup recruitment agency based out of Edmonton that is growing extremely fast and needs another heavy-hitter to help take our business to the next level. As our Director of Business Development, your mission is simple: bring in new clients, and help us build a team that will continue to bring in new clients as we grow.

Youll be the face of our firm to mid-sized and enterprise companies across Alberta, selling permanent and temporary recruitment solutions. This isnt a manage a pipeline and hope rolewere looking for a proven hunter. If youve got a strong track record in B2B sales, especially in recruitment, professional services, or consulting, we want to hear from you.
Key responsibilities:
- Spearhead our internal business development strategy, and sales efforts in the Edmonton area (and other markets in the future).
- Oversee the performance of future sales team members (Est. 2-3 new hires before the end of 2026).
- Identify, research, and target new clients in the Edmonton area.
- Build and manage a pipeline of active and potential job orders.
- Build relationships with key individuals in target companies.
- Create strategies to win new business and expand presence within existing accounts.
- Negotiate services agreements, hiring process, and pricing with clients.
- Qualify job orders and partner with recruiters to ensure quality placements are delivered.
- Oversee all aspects of the job order fulfillment process and ensure complete client satisfaction.
- Coach, train and mentor junior members of the sales team.
- Attend networking events and identify profitable sponsorship opportunities.
Must Have Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience in an outbound BD position within the recruitment or executive search industry.
- Must have a proven ability to successfully generate job orders with new clients.
- Must have a strong understanding of account planning and sales strategy.
- Must have a strong understanding of job order management and fulfillment.
- Sharp communication and presentation skills.
- Strong business acumen and critical thinking abilities.
