Customer Retention Specialist – Entry-Level

Location: Toronto, ON (On-site)
Base Salary: $40,000
On-Target Earnings (OTE): $70,000–$75,000 (base + commission)
Full-time | Training Provided | No Previous Sales Experience Required

About the Role:
Our client, one of North America's most established security companies, is hiring Customer Retention Specialists to join their Toronto team. This is an ideal opportunity for professionals with a background in customer service, retail, or call centers who are looking to take on a more dynamic, rewarding role.

In this position, you'll be helping existing and prospective customers with their home or business security needs. You'll guide them through system upgrades, renewals, and new solutions, with full support and training provided. The role is customer-focused, but offers performance-based compensation.

What You'll Do:

  • Speak with existing and prospective customers about their security system needs

  • Provide clear, helpful guidance on service options and account upgrades

  • Recommend solutions that align with the customer's priorities

  • Help customers renew or upgrade outdated systems (e.g., 3G to LTE)

  • Maintain accurate records and track interactions in our internal system

  • Work toward monthly goals related to customer upgrades and retention

What You Bring:

  • 1+ year of experience in customer service, retail, or a call center

  • Friendly, empathetic, and solution-oriented communication style

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Interest in learning about security solutions and account management

  • Comfortable speaking on the phone and using basic digital tools

Compensation Overview:

  • Base Salary: $40,000 annually

  • Performance Bonuses:

    • New service packages: Earn 10% commission on each contract

      Example: Sell a $1,000 package = $100 commission

    • 3G system upgrades: $50 bonus per upgrade

      Example: Help 4 customers upgrade = $200 bonus

  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): $70,000–$75,000 in year one
