About this Opportunity

The Richmond Country Club (RCC) is recruiting an Hourly Part-time Pool Concierge to join our Member Services team and reports to the Director, Member Services The Pool Concierge is responsible for delivering exceptional hospitality to members and their guests at the pool area. This role focuses on ensuring members and guests are satisfied with the overall poolside amenities RCC offers, including comfort, cleanliness, and a relaxing environment. The ideal candidate is friendly, yet firm, professional, proactive, and attentive to detail. This personnel functions within the Member Services team, and also assists the Food & Beverage team as required. The main purpose is to ensure absolute member satisfaction through their capacity.

What are we looking for and what can you bring to the table?

The Pool Concierges duties are:

  • Responsible for providing exceptional, consistent, and courteous customer service to the RCC members and guests.
  • Greet members and guests upon arrival at the pool with a warm, welcoming demeanor.
  • Check in guests with the appropriate member and ensure guest fees are charged, and distribute wristbands as required.
  • Employ a strong understanding of the operational aspects of the poolside amenities and facilities (cabanas, pool loungers, family changing rooms, and surrounding areas).
  • Enforce pool rules and ensure member safety in collaboration with lifeguards.
  • Enforce rules surrounding guests and visitors such as ensuring they register appropriately and take full ownership of this.
  • Assist with seating arrangements, including setting up towels, umbrellas, and lounge chairs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the pool deck, cabanas, and surrounding areas.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to member requests, concerns, and feedback and redirect them to the respective manager where needed.
  • Handle reservations for cabanas or special events when applicable.
  • Communicate effectively with other club departments (Food & Beverage, Maintenance, etc.)
  • Monitor member preferences and deliver personalized service when possible.
  • At times, helping the Food & Beverage team serve food at the poolside areas.
  • Overview and ownership of setting up the poolside areas before opening and ensuring cleanliness and upkeep is maintained throughout the shift, including the arrangement of loungers, chairs, cabana seating, towels and any other amenity provided.
  • Teamwork and cooperation especially with the Member Services team and Food & Beverage team where relevant.
  • Provide exceptional, consistent, and courteous service to the members and guests.
  • Recognizing frequent members and their guests by their names to provide personalized service and engage with them in a friendly manner.
  • Ensure standards for cleanliness, and presentation are met for all set-ups.
  • Maintain personal health and sanitation standards.
  • Ensure compliance with the Club standards.
  • Follow the proper training and guidance provided by the Member Services and Food & Beverage team.

What makes you a great fit?

  • Prior hospitality or concierge experience is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Able to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
  • Must be organized, dependable, and firm when required to be (such as when enforcing rules).
  • Available and flexible to work weekends, holidays, and peak summer hours.
  • An upbeat and positive attitude.
  • Enjoy working with a team and taking on new tasks.
  • Possess high organizational skills, with an attention to detail.
  • Ability to work under pressure. Role Expectations:
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of lifting or moving up to 25 lbs. (towels, umbrellas, small furniture).
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced outdoor setting.
  • Ability to maintain a positive and customer-friendly attitude.
  • Timeliness in attendance and commitment to scheduled shifts.
  • The ability to reliably commute to RCC Richmond, BC, is crucial.

Shift Requirement:

  • Hours of Work: 24 hours per week, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays only + statutory holidays.
  • Timings: 11 am to 7 pm / 12 pm to 8 pm.
  • Flexibility: 8-hour shifts, 3 times a week guaranteed. Flexibility to work holidays is required.
  • Start Date: June 20, 2025.

  • Job Environment: On-site only, outdoors at our outdoor pool and cabana area.
  • Salary: Starting $21 - $23 per hour.
  • Ability to commute/relocate: Richmond, BC- reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required).
