RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Regularly communicate with members of your Business Unit Team to determine what engineering support they require.
- Understand the status of all projects in your value stream; work with the Small Projects Coordinator to prioritize all Engineering WO's in your Value Stream.
- Work with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering in the project scoping phase to ensure scope justifications for Engineering Work Orders (WO) are clear and concise.
- Complete/obtain approval for Authorization for Expenditures (AFE's).
- Work with engineers, designers and 3rd party engineering firms in creating error and omission-free CWP's.
- Review engineering deliverables with Maintenance and Construction Coordinators to ensure designs are practical and constructible.
- Ensure appropriate levels of risk assessment and change management are completed for each project.
- Manage the schedule and budget for sustaining capital projects in your area.
- Provide engineering support to sustaining capital projects during the procurement and construction phases.
- Develop yearly budgets, cost forecasts and long range plans for all projects in your area.
- Ensure all projects are properly closed out upon completion.
- Engineering Degree is preferred, preferably Mechanical, Civil, Materials or Metallurgical
- Technologist Degree with piping design will be considered
- Registered or eligible for registration as a professional engineer in Alberta with APEGA.
- Project Management Certification through the Project Management Institute (PMI) or equivalent is an asset.
EXPERIENCE
- A minimum of 4 years of experience is required; 5 - 10 years of experience working in an operational oil and gas facility with Professional Engineer designation is preferred.
- Previous experience working in an operational facility, with direct interaction with Operations and Maintenance Personnel is essential.
- Experience managing small to mid-sized capital projects, using established project management processes is an asset.
- Familiar with WCB and Alberta OH&S Rules and Regulations.
