General Description:
The Food and Beverage Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting in planning and overseeing all venues in the Food and Beverage department at the Capilano Suspension Bridge Park (CSBP). This position is responsible for supervising all aspects of the operations of CSBP, while maintaining profitable restaurants and outlets, and high-quality products and service levels that ensure exceptional guest service. This department includes the Cliffhouse Restaurant, Beary Waffle, Logger's Grill and the Cabin.
What you'll do:
- Assist the F&B Manager in all aspects of the CSBP F&B Operations.
- Model and manage effective supervision of CSBP all F&B venues to drive sales while maintaining exceptional guest service and CSBP standards,
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture that promotes teamwork, collaboration, and a passion for delivering exceptional service,
- Lead and participate in CSBP's recruitment and training of all F&B Team Members,
- Ensure all F&B team members are trained for success.
- Ensure all new team members are trained in standard operating procedures and safety protocols and procedures, following established manuals and checklists,
- Deliver feedback and support for all team members to ensure training is upheld.
- Capilanotude; high energy, attention to detail, guest engagement (making the connection).
- Maintain excellent levels of internal and external customer service, positive customer relationships, tending to guests concerns, and responding to needs.
- Showcase/upselling; product knowledge.
- Presentation; full display, cleanliness, tidiness.
- Lead F&B Team Engagement:
- Assist the F&B Manager in establishing a departmental recognition program and champion existing Capilano recognition initiatives.
- Create a fun and rewarding team culture.
- Assist in the implementation of performance feedback for the F&B Supervisor team, and feedback schedule for front line team members.
- Create opportunities for team member growth.
- Holding daily briefings with Supervisors and Team Members to maintain open communication and establish goals,
- Ensure the smooth execution of service, including hands-on involvement when required through being present at the venues during service hours,
- Work to ensure the timely creation of department schedules to ensure maximum coverage during all business times (peak and non-peak), working within budget,
- Recognize and reward team member performance that is consistent with CSBP's vision to have a high-performing team,
- Schedule and receive food and beverage deliveries, checking delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity,
- Ensure that all proper and necessary accounting controls are implemented and maintained,
- Ensure a high quality of Food & Beverage offerings throughout quick serve venues at CSBP,
- Ensure Food Safe practices are being always followed, and the food safety plan and quality standards are up to date and adhered to,
- Ensure the Quick Serve team has a system in place to ensure all food orders are accurate and timely,
- Investigate and resolve complaints regarding Food & Beverage quality and service through communication feedback,
- Take every reasonable precaution to ensure the safety of all Quick Serve Team Members and Guests, Safety First!
- Support other Capilano Group locations, as required,
- All other duties as assigned.
- 3 years management or supervisory experience in Food & Beverage industry,
- Completion (or completing) University or College degree in Tourism/Hospitality Management or in another related discipline, an asset,
- Working knowledge of Microsoft office and POS systems,
- Food Safe Level 1 certification,
- Serving it Right certification,
- First Aid Level 1, or willing to train
- Flexibility, able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays,
- Able to work a variety of shifts including evenings, weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of the business,
- Vacation must be taken at a time that is mutually agreed upon and in consideration of the business needs,
- While performing the duties of this position, team members are required to be on their feet for extended periods of time,
- While performing the duties of this position, required to work in a variety of weather conditions including heat, rain and winter conditions
- Occasionally required to lift and carry up to 50lbs, and
- Occasionally required to lift and climb a step ladder or step stool.
Salary: $54,000 per annum plus benefits
