The Opportunity:

The Territory Manager actively builds a territory of dealer accounts to meet or exceed budgeted volumes and contributions. The primary responsibility is to actively build a territory of prospects and deliver new business to meet or exceed forecasted new volume. This position owns the sales and marketing efforts to maintain and develop an account. This position will also be accountable for margin management and cost control to maximize profitability.

This role requires a person who is able to perform under pressure. It is based “in the field” with significant customer interfaces on a regular basis. The TM owns all accounts to be sure they follow all safety and environmental guidelines, and all company requirements in regard to the brand are adhered to. It is a front-facing position that entails analyzing marketing trends and making recommendations on go to market strategies, customer behaviors, and changes in a dealer's financial position. This role requires the need to interface internally and externally, daily with people from various levels of organizations. The TM is a strong leader that drives legal accountability and has a high financial acumen.

Responsibilities:

  • Convert prospects to new Parkland dealer accounts through competitive gains and NTI's.
  • Lead a market of dealers while driving same store growth, while adding value and leadership in the Dealer Network.
  • Lead strong relationships and professional values to re-sign the existing dealer business.
  • Manage all levels of brand execution to achieve the highest consumer regard for our brands through exceeding the brand's loyalty target; maximizing fleet opportunities in the territory; conducting value added site visits and assisting the dealer to exceed the mystery shop scores.
  • Develop the highest level of service by leading the need and driving high NPS results.
  • Make recommendations and actively promote the advantages of Parkland through our Dealer Value Proposition, while making tactical decisions on brand structure.
  • Analyze markets and deliver recommendations to provide required reports, while using the best time management skills to make the most of your prepared schedule.
  • Implement all legal requirements to mitigate risk and liability to ensure overall health of the dealer network.
  • Own the responsibility of legal duties to mitigate risk and liability within the dealer network and PFC.
  • Conduct yourself with the highest level of Safety, which adheres within PFC Safety policy and procedures, while taking responsibility of onsite dealer safety.
  • Own your territory and communicate proactively with all levels of the organization.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in Sales Management, Marketing or Finance.
  • Minimum 5-10 years with a multi-unit gasoline/retail or convenience store management or sales background an asset.
  • Must have strong Financial Management acumen – results focused on income statements, balance sheets, & cash flow management.
  • Understanding of legal agreements, letters of intent and other business contractual necessities.
  • Proven record of increased same store growth, while incorporating marketing ideas to support a dealer network.
  • Must be able to make difficult decisions that are based on sound data / information and that are in the best interest of Parkland.
  • Must be able to analyze situations and make definitive decisions.
  • Highly knowledgeable with Occupation Health and Safety and site operations – ability to enforce safety and company standards.
  • Proficient use of MS Office Excel, Word, and other systems and or databases.
  • Willingness to travel and/or overnight travel is required.
  • Ability to work with limited or minimal supervision.
  • Must have a high level of commitment to time management to make efficient use of dealer interactions.
  • Knowledgeable in Competitive Law.
  • Must be able to provide a clean drivers abstract.
