About the Position
Stone Creek Resorts is seeking a well-rounded, experienced and detail-oriented Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. The Financial Accountant will maintain accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insights to support the organization's growth and profitability. This role requires a strong understanding of project accounting, exceptional analytical skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Position is based at Stone Creek Resorts' head office in Calgary, AB.

The Financial Accountant will report to the Corporate Controller. Compensation will be commensurate with experience.
Key Responsibilities and Deliverables
Maintain General Ledgers and Accounts
- Prepare entries, record transactions and maintain ledgers in a variety of formats and systems.
- Generate and maintain timely monthly close tasks in support of internal and external reporting.
Financial Reporting and Analysis
- Support the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements for several Resort entities to identify trends, discrepancies, and opportunities for improvement.
- Provide insightful financial reports and KPIs to Resorts' General Managers.
- Provide project-specific reporting for real estate projects.
Account Reconciliations
- Perform account reconciliations, ensuring accuracy and resolving discrepancies promptly.
- Maintain and update the general ledger with accurate and complete data.
Budgeting and Forecasting
- Collaborate with finance and real estate development team to assist with budgets and forecasts.
Process Improvement and System Implementations
- Identify areas for process improvements and new systems, streamlining financial processes.
- Implement new systems and best practices to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
Team Collaboration
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, real estate development and procurement to gather financial data and reporting.
Background, Education and Experience Sought
- CPA designation preferred with 3-5 years post-designation experience.
- Proficiency with Sage Intacct and Sage Construction.
- Proficiency in learning and utilizing new financial software and tools.
- Strong to advanced Excel skills required.
- Strong project accounting skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize and pivot to support organization's changing needs.
- Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong ethics and a commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
