What You'll Do

As a skilled and experienced Estimating Supervisor, youll lead one of the most vital parts of our businesscosting and planning exceptional residential builds and renovations. Youll manage the full estimation process from start to finish, coordinating everything from initial contract scheduling and review to post-contract analysis and vendor procurement. Working closely with our sales, production, and vendor teams, you ensure every estimate is accurate, timely, and profitablewhile keeping documentation airtight and pushing continuous process improvements.

Contract Estimation Scheduling

  • Develop and manage contract estimation schedules based on sales (design agreement phase 1 (DA1) and design agreement phase 2 (DA2) timelines provided by sales team.

Estimation Process Management

  • Conduct ballpark reviews and detailed estimate reviews.
  • Oversee pre-contract plan reviews and site visits to ensure all project details are captured accurately.
  • Perform comprehensive document reviews and manage document send-outs for contracts.
  • Manage document versioning for change orders (COs), contracts, design agreements (DAs), and retainers.

Post-Contract Analysis

  • Review post-contract purchase order/change order (PO/CO) schedules.
  • Conduct post-contract selection reconciliation reviews (RECONs) and evaluate selection sheets.
  • Oversee post-contract email reviews to ensure proper tone and error-free communication.

Vendor & Trade Partner Management

  • Lead new vendor procurement efforts.
  • Organize and conduct trade partner agreement meetings.

Transition & Handoff to Production

  • Ensure smooth handoffs from estimation to production.
  • Collaborate with production teams to resolve site changes and address any discrepancies in initial estimates.

Problem Solving & Process Improvement

  • Identify and address issues related to unplanned estimating or cost variations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop solutions for production site changes and other challenges impacting cost and schedule.

What You Bring

  • Proven experience in construction estimation, ideally in a supervisory or leadership role, with 510 years in the renovation, carpentry, or construction industry
  • Strong understanding of contract management, estimation scheduling, and both pre- and post-contract review processes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction documents, and selection sheets with precision
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and negotiating trade partner agreements
  • Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in cost estimation and project budgeting
  • Proficiency with estimating software, document management systems, and Microsoft Office tools like Excel and Word
  • Excellent analytical thinking, communication skills (verbal and written), and a detail-oriented approach to documentation and process accuracy
  • Ability to lead and manage teams, work collaboratively across departments and with external partners, and balance multiple priorities under tight deadlines

Working Conditions

The Estimating Supervisor role involves a combination of office-based tasks and occasional site visits. Youll spend the majority of your time in the office reviewing estimates, managing documentation, and collaborating with internal teams, but you will also be required to visit job sites to gather information and meet with vendors or trade partners.

  • Primarily office-based with occasional site visits to assess project details
  • Exposure to various weather conditions when visiting job sites (e.g., heat, cold, rain)
  • Must be comfortable with office equipment, including computers, printers, and telephones
  • Prolonged periods of desk work, analyzing documents and blueprints
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Standard Monday to Friday schedule, with occasional extended hours depending on project timelines
