Some of what you will do in this role includes:
- Lead, train, and manage housekeeping staff, including room attendants, laundry personnel, and public area cleaners.
- Develop and implement effective cleaning procedures and schedules for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
- Conduct regular inspections of guest rooms and common areas to ensure cleanliness standards are maintained.
- Manage inventory and procurement of housekeeping supplies, linens, and equipment while adhering to budgetary guidelines.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety, and hygiene in accordance with local regulations and company policies.
- Prepare and manage departmental budgets, staffing plans, and operational reports.
- Coordinate with other departments (e.g., Front Office, Maintenance) to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction.
- Handle guest complaints or requests related to housekeeping with professionalism and efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, and provide regular training to staff on service excellence and safety practices.
- Monitor and report on maintenance needs within rooms and public areas.
- Proven experience as an Executive Housekeeper, Housekeeping Manager, or similar role in a hotel, resort, or high-end residential environment.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
- Working knowledge of housekeeping management software and inventory control systems.
- Familiarity with WorksafeBC and local health regulations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as required.
- Associate's or bachelor's degree.
