Development Coordinator

This is an exciting opportunity to work as a Development Coordinator at St. Joseph's Hospice of London alongside our dynamic fundraising team to raise $1.5M each and every year to help patients and their families at end of life.
About Hospice
St. Joseph's Hospice is a charitable organization that offers compassionate holistic care and support to people living with a palliative illness. Support is extended to their family members and caregivers and to those grieving the loss of a loved one. Hospice programs and services are offered at no cost and are available irrespective of age, gender, religion, race, ethnicity or economic status.
Let's Talk about the role!
- A database “super user,” who understands a database capabilities and enhancements (Hospice uses Donor Perfect, an added plus if you know this software)
- Act as a first point of contact for a high-volume of interactions and correspondence with donors, families, and Hospice staff, managing general phone and email support lines and triaging requests as required
- Lead administrator for all Hospice donation programs; including data entry, donation processing, direct mail distribution and donor recognition programs
- Maintains the integrity of donor database by ensuring that all donations, donor contact information, other constituents' information, campaign codes, and other pieces of data are accurately recorded and kept secure and confidential
- Establishes new fundraising reports and adapting ongoing reports to track: giving levels, renewal rates, pledge collection deadlines, recurring gifts, stewardship requirements, planned gifts and other data for donors.
- Prepares month-end reconciliation against general ledger in collaboration with Finance Department.
- Assists the Development Team's fundraising efforts with various special events, lottery and annual fundraising program projects.
- Performs other duties as assigned, is innovative and collaborates with the team in all areas of fundraising

- An undergraduate degree or diploma in a related field such as development and fundraising are preferred. A combination of relevant working experience and post-secondary education in another area of study will be considered.
- A minimum of three years of fundraising experience in a non-profit environment.
- Proficiency in database management with a solid understanding of a CRM platform
- Experience sorting large data and intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
- Excellent listening, oral and written communication skills
- A demonstrated talent for building relationships
- Strong time management skills and ability to adapt and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Commitment to maintaining high level of confidentiality
- Ability to be onsite 3 days per week Monday to Friday and attend occasional evening/weekend events
