Estimator – Turn-Key Fabric Building Solutions
Location: Ontario (NOG)
Salary: $60,000
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, an industry leader in turn-key building solutions specializing in permanent, temporary, and portable fabric structures. They are seeking a detail-oriented and technically skilled Estimator to join their team.
Position Overview:
As an Estimator, you will play a vital role in supporting the sales and engineering teams by preparing accurate, detailed quotations for custom projects that fall outside the company's standard offerings. Using AutoCAD and Excel, you'll analyze project requirements, develop custom designs, and provide precise costing data to ensure timely and competitive bids.
Key Responsibilities:
Support the dealer network and sales team by developing custom layouts, profiles, and cost estimates for fabric building projects.
Review and interpret project specifications, customer requirements, and structural challenges.
Create sketches and technical drawings using AutoCAD to address unique project needs.
Collaborate with engineering to provide centerlines, gage maps, and structural details as needed.
Deliver accurate, detailed, and timely project costings for non-standard fabric building designs.
Manage multiple project quotes, timelines, and stakeholder expectations simultaneously.
Analyze data and assist in preparing production KPI reports.
Contribute to the development and improvement of estimating tools and processes.
Qualifications & Experience:
Post-secondary education in engineering, design, or business administration—or equivalent work experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience in estimating, quoting, or project costing, ideally in construction or manufacturing.
Strong understanding of manufacturing and fabrication processes, including welding and machining.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and AutoCAD.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and parts lists.
Strong analytical thinking and attention to detail.
Experience with custom structures or building systems is an asset.
Bilingual in French is an asset.
