WHAT'S THE JOB?
Join our Horizon North team, where our people are driven by a desire to innovate, do social good, and move construction forward.

As a Health, Safety, Environment & Quality Coordinator, reporting to the Director, Access Solutions and Relocatable Structures, you will monitor Horizon North's award winning safety program to ensure completion of necessary documentation and implementation of required controls. You will also be responsible for ensuring that information regarding health and safety is prepared, issued, and distributed in an efficient and timely manner.

Your work will include:

  • Day to day delivery of an integrated Occupational Health and Safety program for the Horizon North Access Solutions and Relocatable Structures Division.
  • Maintain a high standard of internal customer care and contribute toward the development of customer service excellence.
  • Ensure that safety, toolbox, pre job hazard assessments, field level hazard assessments, equipment inspections and other safety meetings are being conducted.
  • Review and assist in the administration of Corporate Occupational Health, Safety and Environment Policies and Procedures.
  • Work with each work crew's supervisor to ensure that all of their workers are following HSEQ expectations.
  • Report monthly safety statistics to Group Services HSE Manager.
  • Ensure that a system of information sharing is utilized between sub-contractors and all parties that may be impacted by Horizon North activities and/or concurrent operations.
  • Ensure that the emergency response plan is communicated, coordinated and documented.
  • Conduct onsite incident investigations and complete investigation on HSEQ software program. Participate in executive after action review meetings.
  • Conduct onsite field visits in Montney and Duvernay basins oil and gas industry, to monitor work being completed by employees and sub contractors.
  • While on onsite visits complete checklist of compliance with processes, procedures and expectations. Provide results to supervision and management.

Qualifications

WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • Educational background equivalent to high school.
  • Enrollment in or completion of a specialized Occupational Health and Safety training program is considered an asset.
  • 2 to 5 years' of work experience in an area related to safety in oil & gas service or construction environment.
  • Knowledge of current occupational Health and Safety regulations.
  • Intermediate to advance skills in using the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to meet the unique requirements of the site including potential working after hours "on-call" duties.
