The Opportunity

As a Membership Services Representative, you will be the first point of contact for members and visitors. You will deliver high quality experiences to members and potential members by being an information source about the programs and services the YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick offers to aid them in reaching their specific health and fitness goals.

Responsibilities

  • Greet all members by name, engage in conversation and provide exceptional Y experiences to members and visitors.
  • Meet or exceed targets including new member joins, follow up phone calls, and rates of conversion of prospective members.
  • Understand all programs and services the YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick has to offer.
  • Build relationships with members and participants to engage and connect them to the Ys program and services.
  • Ensure all members adhere to the Member Etiquette, Child Protection Rules and the Ys Values.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Previous sales or customer service experience is an asset.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Computer experience working with Microsoft Applications.
  • Strong work ethic and excellent organization skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including evenings and weekends.
  • First Aid/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain.

Working Conditions

  • As a YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick staff person, you are responsible for your own travel to and from work.
  • The YMCA of Southwestern New Brunswick has a Joint Health and Safety Committee which meets on a monthly basis to discuss health and safety within the workplace.
  • In this role you will be required to work in an environment which is often busy with high levels of noise.
  • You will be required to manage multiple activities on a regular basis.
  • This position could require the staff person to sit for long periods of time.
  • You are responsible for the member / clients safety on a daily basis.
  • You will be required to perform CPR and First Aid when and if necessary and you are certified to do so.
  • You will be responsible to follow and abide by YMCA Child Protection and Safety policies and procedures.
  • You will be responsible to follow and abide by Service that Shines Standards
