Summit Search Group has been engaged by our client, Art Magic Co, to recruit their next Assistant Project Manager Millwork. Our client specializes in delivering high-end, custom millwork solutions for commercial and residential environments. With a commitment to quality craftsmanship and precision, they bring architectural visions to life through thoughtful design, expert production, and seamless installation.
Reporting to the Project Manager or Senior Project Manager, the Assistant Project Manager (APM) will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of custom millwork projects. With offices in Ontario and Manitoba, they serve commercial and institutional clients across Canada and the U.S. Art Magic Co. offers end-to-end project solutionsfrom estimating and engineering to project management and installationdelivering craftsmanship, precision, and value on every build.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Project Manager in planning, coordinating, and overseeing millwork projects from start to finish
- Assist in preparing submittals, RFIs, change orders, and project schedules
- Maintain organized and up-to-date project records
- Act as a liaison between internal teams (drafting, production, installation) and external stakeholders (GCs, architects, vendors)
- Assist in purchasing materials, tracking deliveries, and verifying specifications
- Coordinate shop drawings and ensure drawings match site conditions and project requirements
- Support project timelines and site installations through scheduling and coordination
- Track field measurements, monitor progress, and assist with installation logistics
- Address and resolve minor project issues under the guidance of the Project Manager
Qualifications:
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- 13 years of experience in project coordination or millwork/construction management
- Experience and knowledge including estimation of manufacturing millwork, cabinetry, or architectural woodwork is highly valued.
- Installation of millwork, cabinetry or architectural woodwork is an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with project management software, AutoCAD, or similar tools is preferred
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and time-management abilities
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
- Knowledge of millwork materials, processes, and installation methods
- Must have valid passport, international travel may be required

- Primarily office-based with occasional site visits
- Fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Frequent interaction with contractors, architects, and internal departments
