Job Title: Associate, Sponsor Coverage
Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 4 days/week in office)
Compensation: $95,000–$115,000 + bonus + comprehensive benefits
Overview:
A leading global financial institution is seeking an Associate, Sponsor Coverage to join its Canadian Corporate Banking team in Toronto. This role will support the origination and execution of transactions across infrastructure, power, real estate, and private equity sectors for global financial sponsors.
The ideal candidate has 1–3 years of relevant experience in corporate banking or sponsor coverage and is comfortable working in a fast-paced, transaction-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the execution of sponsor-related transactions, including due diligence, credit analysis, and internal approval processes
- Build and manage financial models, conduct industry research, and assist with marketing materials
- Prepare internal credit memos and support the credit approval workflow
- Monitor existing transactions, including preparing ESG and credit reviews, waivers, and amendments
- Coordinate with internal teams and external counsel on legal documentation and KYC
- Participate in client meetings and contribute to relationship management efforts
- Provide ongoing portfolio support and assist with internal reporting and account planning
What We're Looking For:
- 1–3 years of experience in corporate banking, investment banking, or a similar role
- Strong financial analysis, modeling, and credit writing skills
- Comfortable preparing and presenting materials for both internal and client use
- Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple priorities
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field
