Dori Zener & Associates Inc. provides strengths-based, person-centred therapy, coaching, peer support groups, consultations and training to enhance the well-being of autistic individuals & their loved ones.
Dori Zener & Associates Inc. is looking to contract an individual and family therapist to provide neuro-affirming support to teenage, young adult and adult clients. The candidate must have:
- Ontario registration as a Registered Social Worker (RSW) or Registered Psychotherapist (RP)
- 3-5 years experience (min) providing mental health counselling to autistic teens and adults.
- Certification in trauma based therapy, EMDR, somatic therapy and/or nervous system regulation is an asset
- Experience using JaneApp is an asset
- Available to offer both in-person (North York and Downtown offices) and virtual appointments for a minimum of 8 hours per week
- Access to a dedicated virtual workplace
- Values neurodivergent experiences and believes in the ability of autistic individuals to make meaningful changes in their lives.
- Has expertise with the intersection of autism, gender and sexuality (2SLGBTQAI+).
- Lived experience of neurodivergence is an asset.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct neuroaffirming client assessments, including interviews, case histories, and identification of strengths and goals.
- Develop and implement individualized counselling and intervention plans that align with client-defined goals.
- Provide therapy and counselling services in a client-centered, neurodiversity-affirming manner.
- Monitor client progress and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions and therapeutic outcomes.
- Maintain timely and accurate clinical notes, and manage scheduling and billing through our secure online system.
- Collaborate with the administrative team to ensure seamless, high-quality client services.
- Attend and actively contribute to monthly team meetings.
- Uphold ethical standards, maintain registration with Ontario regulatory bodies (e.g., OCSWSSW, CRPO), and carry active professional liability insurance.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in autism support and neuroaffirming care.
