Reporting to the Lead E&I manager, you would be responsible for the Electrical Engineering on multiple projects with a very hands on approach. In addition to technical expertise, the position will require a great understanding of resource and schedule development.
Duties
- Specify low voltage electrical equipment such as VFD's, MCC's, induction motors, push button stations, lighting, safety switches and etc. for hazardous area applications.
- Participate in HAZOP and SIL studies.
- Assist in developing P&ID's and PFD's.
- Develop and review hazardous area classification drawings, motor schematics, electrical load list, single line diagrams.
- Review cause & effect diagrams, control narratives, instrument indexes and alarm setpoint lists
- Prepare, review and approve datasheets for electrical equipment
- Prepare and review material requisition packages for RFQ and PO.
- Provide technical support to the Sales group during the proposal stage as and when required.
Experience & Qualifications
- 5-10 years experience ideally.
- Working knowledge of industry standards such as CSA, NEC, IEC, ATEX and OH&S is a requirement.
- 5+ years experience working with low voltage equipment, under 700 kW.
- A basic understanding of Instrumentation & control is also preferred.
- Strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly to team members and stakeholders.
