Job Description

Reporting to the Lead E&I manager, you would be responsible for the Electrical Engineering on multiple projects with a very hands on approach. In addition to technical expertise, the position will require a great understanding of resource and schedule development.

Duties

  • Specify low voltage electrical equipment such as VFD's, MCC's, induction motors, push button stations, lighting, safety switches and etc. for hazardous area applications.
  • Participate in HAZOP and SIL studies.
  • Assist in developing P&ID's and PFD's.
  • Develop and review hazardous area classification drawings, motor schematics, electrical load list, single line diagrams.
  • Review cause & effect diagrams, control narratives, instrument indexes and alarm setpoint lists
  • Prepare, review and approve datasheets for electrical equipment
  • Prepare and review material requisition packages for RFQ and PO.
  • Provide technical support to the Sales group during the proposal stage as and when required.

Experience & Qualifications

  • 5-10 years experience ideally.
  • Working knowledge of industry standards such as CSA, NEC, IEC, ATEX and OH&S is a requirement.
  • 5+ years experience working with low voltage equipment, under 700 kW.
  • A basic understanding of Instrumentation & control is also preferred.
  • Strong communication skills to convey technical information clearly to team members and stakeholders.
