Residential Real Estate Law Clerk

Aurora, ON (Hybrid or Remote)

$70-100K based upon experience

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Residential Real Estate Law Clerk with a minimum of 5 years of experience in full carriage of residential real estate files. This is an excellent opportunity for a high-performing legal professional looking to join a growing and fast-paced real estate law practice.

The successful candidate will manage residential transactions from open to close, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and a high standard of client service. You'll be handling a high volume of files (25+ per month) and must be comfortable working independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage full carriage of residential real estate transactions, including purchases, sales, and refinances.
  • Draft and review closing documents, requisition letters, trust ledgers, and reporting letters.
  • Conduct and review title searches and resolve title issues.
  • Liaise with clients, lenders, real estate agents, and other legal professionals to ensure timely closings.
  • Prepare and register documents using Teraview and conveyancing software.
  • Maintain accurate and organized file documentation from intake through to post-closing.
  • Ensure all documentation complies with relevant legislation and internal procedures.
  • Contribute to a collaborative team environment and provide mentorship when needed.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of recent experience handling residential real estate files independently from open to close.
  • Proven ability to handle 25+ real estate files per month with accuracy and minimal supervision.
  • Experience with PC Law is required.
  • Familiarity with The Conveyancer/Closer is an asset (training can be provided for those with Uniti experience).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • High attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Work Arrangement

  • Preferred: In-office (Aurora, ON)
  • Optional: Remote, for candidates with a strong track record of managing files autonomously.
