Job Description:
We are looking for a detail-oriented and highly collaborative Finance Business Analyst to join our Information Technology (IT) Department. This role will work closely with the Finance Team to enhance business processes, reporting capabilities, and system functionalities. The Finance Business Analyst will leverage strong experience with ERP systems (specifically QAD), financial data analysis, and Power BI to deliver actionable insights and drive process improvements across finance operations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with strong analytical, technical, and communication skills.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Act as the primary liaison between the Finance Team and the IT Department for system enhancements, reporting needs, and project initiatives.
Gather, analyze, and document business requirements related to finance processes, systems, and reporting.
Support and maintain the QAD ERP system, including troubleshooting, user support, and system optimization.
Design, build, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to support financial reporting, forecasting, and decision-making.
Conduct data analysis and reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data across systems.
Identify opportunities to improve finance-related processes, reduce inefficiencies, and automate workflows.
Collaborate with the ERP and Infrastructure teams to develop integrations, data pipelines, and reporting solutions.
Assist in finance system upgrades, enhancements, and implementations by coordinating testing, training, and documentation efforts.
Translate financial and operational business needs into technical specifications for development and reporting.
Provide training and support to finance users on systems, tools, and reporting best practices.
What You Bring to the Table:
Education:
College Diploma or University Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
3+ years of experience as a Business Analyst supporting Finance or Accounting teams.
Hands-on experience working with ERP systems (QAD experience highly preferred).
Experience developing and maintaining Power BI dashboards and financial reports.
Technical Skills:
Strong understanding of financial processes, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, and Financial Reporting.
Experience with QAD ERP, including modules related to Finance, Manufacturing, or Supply Chain is a strong asset.
Proficiency in Power BI, including data modeling, DAX expressions, and report development.
Familiarity with SQL for querying databases and performing data analysis.
Understanding of data integrations and ETL concepts.
Experience with process improvement methodologies such as Lean Six Sigma is an advantage.
Familiarity with Azure Data Warehouse or other cloud-based data systems is a plus.
Certifications (Preferred):
Power BI Certification (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Data Analyst Associate)
Business Analysis Certification (e.g., CBAP, CCBA, or PMI-PBA)
Finance or Accounting Certification (CPA designation or in progress) is a plus.
