Job Summary:

ALTEN Canada is seeking a hands-on DevOps Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in implementing and managing AWS services, specifically focusing on S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, SQS, and SNS. This role is focused purely on DevOps implementation and does not involve architecture or security responsibilities. Candidates with experience in Terraform and HCL development for creating Terraform modules are highly preferred. While experience with Databricks and Snowflake is optional, it is considered a strong asset.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deploy, manage, and optimize AWS services, including S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, SQS, and SNS.
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions using Terraform.
  • Write and manage HCL-based Terraform modules for automating cloud infrastructure deployment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot AWS infrastructure, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Collaborate with software development teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines.
  • Implement best practices for cloud security, compliance, and scalability within the DevOps scope.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as a DevOps Engineer.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services: S3, Lambda, IAM, VPC, SQS, SNS.
  • Proven experience with Terraform for infrastructure automation.
  • Proficiency in HCL (HashiCorp Configuration Language) for Terraform module development.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and automation tools.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Knowledge of AWS networking and security best practices.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
