We are seeking a highly motivated M&A and Strategy Intern to join our team at Onyx-Fire Protection Services Inc. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in corporate development, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and business operations within the fire protection industry.
The intern will work closely with the corporate development team, strategy team, and senior leadership to support the identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic initiatives and acquisitions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and Analysis: Conduct market research and analysis to identify potential acquisition targets within the fire protection industry and related sectors.
- Financial Modeling: Assist in building and maintaining financial models to evaluate the financial performance and potential returns of target companies.
- Due Diligence: Support due diligence efforts by gathering and analyzing data related to target companies' operations, finances, market position, and industry trends.
- Sourcing and Cold Calling: Identify and reach out to potential acquisition targets through proactive sourcing and cold calling efforts.
- Documentation and Reporting: Prepare presentations, reports (i.e. Board report), and investment memoranda for internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic Projects: Conduct analyses and act as a thought partner to cross-functional projects spanning from scheduling & route optimization to customer segmentation.
- Operations Improvement: Identify and execute on opportunities to improve business processes.
Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, preferably in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with proficiency in financial modeling, Excel, and Powerpoint. Comfort with SQL and PowerBI is a bonus.
- Excellent research abilities and attention to detail with a self-starter attitude
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
- Interest in entrepreneurship, corporate development, M&A, and strategy.
