Role Description Summary:

Employee Relations & Compliance:

  • Act as a resource for HR-related questions, policies, and procedures, ensuring compliance with provincial employment legislation in Ontario and Alberta.
  • Assist with employee relations, performance management, and conflict resolution in partnership with the HR team.

Recruitment & Onboarding:

  • Support recruitment efforts including job postings, screening, onboarding, and orientation.

HR Operations & Administration:

  • Handle day-to-day HR operations and administrative support across departments.
  • Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy within HR systems.

Payroll & Benefits:

  • Support payroll and benefits administration as needed.

Learning & Development / Employee Engagement:

  • Coordinate and assist with training initiatives, employee engagement activities, and internal communications.

HR Strategy & Projects:

  • Participate in policy development, process improvement, and various HR projects.
  • Provide back-up support to the HR Team in Calgary and collaborate on cross-provincial HR initiatives.

Education & Experience:

  • 2+ years of progressive HR experience in a Generalist or Coordinator capacity
  • Solid understanding of both Ontario and Alberta Employment Standards and related HR legislation
  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related field; CHRP/CPHR designation or working towards it is an asset

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
  • A flexible and adaptable mindset – you're comfortable wearing many hats and shifting priorities as needed
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively with remote teams
  • High level of professionalism, organization, and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with MS Office and HRIS systems (experience with HUMI is a plus)

Working Conditions:

  • Standard business hours apply, with the expectation of extended hours during peak periods or for urgent matters.
  • The role requires a degree of autonomy, strong communication, and collaboration within a dynamic, high-volume setting.

Physical & Psychological Health Requirements:

  • Comfortable working at a desk and using digital tools for extended periods.
