At CCS, we hire passionate and talented people who share our mission of providing solution-oriented, high-quality services. Our culture is inclusive, collaborative, and quality-driven.

Who You Are

  • You are well-versed in Bayesian and frequentist statistics and aware of the strengths and limitations of both statistical paradigms.
  • You are open to learning and developing expertise in clinical trial research, simulation-guided trial design, statistical methods, regulatory guidance, and R package and shiny development, as they pertain to the clinical development and health technology assessment (HTA) life cycle.
  • You are committed to maximizing CCS's presence and leadership in advanced statistics and modelling.
  • You are comfortable working with clients and internal stakeholders and encouraging the integration of novel statistical approaches in our group.
  • You enjoy working closely with a small team.

Primary Duties

  • Conduct Research and Development (R&D) on novel statistical methods
  • Lead software development for R packages and shiny app.
  • Support and lead proposals and projects for clients
  • Monitor project progress, set deadlines, provide solutions, and evaluate project performance to ensure stakeholder satisfaction
  • Monitor key emerging innovative statistical and data science methodologies and drive education and integration of novel methods into internal road-maps
  • Effectively communicate advanced statistical concepts and information to both technical and non-technical audiences, creating a compelling case for innovative approaches with internal constituents and external partners
  • Design and implement graphical methods to help explore and illustrate all aspects of statistical approaches, particularly trial design, with a focus on clarity for a non-statistical audience

Qualifications

  • PhD in Statistics or Biostatistics.
  • Post-doc, post-graduation, or other work experience
  • Solid theoretical foundations and background in statistics
  • Strong programming skills in R.
  • Experience or willingness to acquire software engineering skills for package and shiny development
  • Willingness to develop and continuously improve efficient and easy-to-use coding practices
  • Able to conceive and implement novel methods from first principles
  • Excellent technical writing skills and ability to communicate complex ideas. Ability to communicate complex statistical concepts to non-statisticians
  • Comfortable operating with and being effective despite ambiguity
  • Experience collaborating with interdisciplinary teams
  • Passion for statistics (rather than generic data science) and R&D
  • Well-honed leadership, communication, accountability, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • High motivation and drive to help our business grow
  • Experience in statistical consulting, R&D from the pharmaceutical/biotechnology industry, and project management is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of the statistical, regulatory, and scientific landscapes is a plus
