Job Description:
As the Senior Privacy Specialist, you will lead privacy engagements and be responsible for:
- Develop Strategic Privacy Programs: Support the development of new privacy programs or enhance existing ones, establishing the ideal future state in consultation with client stakeholders. This includes developing right-sized policies, procedures, and vendor due diligence programs.
- Virtual Privacy Officer: Lead organizations through strategic privacy programs, supporting clients in implementing all aspects of their privacy program, including data subject requests, vendor due diligence, contract reviews, risk management, and developing a privacy culture.
- Privacy Assessments: Conduct thorough privacy assessments and transfer risk assessments against global privacy regulations to identify risks and recommend effective mitigation strategies.
- Data Mapping and Risk Assessment: Develop and maintain detailed data maps to adhere to privacy regulations and identify privacy risks within the maps.
- Training: Lead privacy training sessions to educate client employees and industry stakeholders.
- Technical Advice: Advise on the technical and functional aspects of privacy or other IT issues and find compliant but workable solutions.
- Subject Matter Expert: Act as the subject matter expert for privacy and governance risks across the organization.
- Leadership: Manage a team of privacy professionals, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Client Management: Ensure client satisfaction by managing expectations and delivering exceptional privacy engagements, and creating an outstanding experience through Bamboo processes.
Who You Are:
- Strong organizational and time management skills to juggle multiple projects efficiently, complete them under time pressure, either independently or while managing a team.
- Ability to stay updated with industry trends and changes in laws and regulations impacting governance and privacy programs.
- An innovative, agile and business-oriented mindset to develop creative solutions for our clients.
- Excellent writing and presentation skills to effectively communicate privacy-related information.
- Interest in or experience with AI.
- Excellent analytical skills for conducting privacy impact assessments and risk evaluations.
- Ability to prioritize tasks effectively and maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
Required Experience:
- Ideally possess one of the following certifications: CIPP, CIPM, or CIPT or similar from a reputable provider.
- Approximately 5 to 7 years of practical experience with common frameworks, standards, and methodologies used in the privacy field.
- Experience in designing or operationalizing functional privacy within or on behalf of a business.
- Support for privacy tools and privacy-enhancing technology (PET).
- In-depth understanding of global privacy legislations and regulations.
Bonus Points:
· Technical background such as software development or network architecture.
· Cybersecurity governance experience or experience in rolling out SOC2 / ISO27001 / ISO27701 / NIST CSF or similar frameworks.
· ITGC / IT Auditing / GRC experience.
· Experience in SAAS environments and companies.
· Experience in large-scale retail.
