About the Company

Staffix Professional Staffing is partnering with a leading GTA-based contractor that specializes in large-scale concrete and structural rehabilitation projects. Known for their technical precision, safety record, and high-quality results, they focus on challenging urban projects such as multi-level parking garage restorations, high-rise structure repairs, and concrete infrastructure rehab.

Key Responsibilities

Estimating (Core Focus):

• Analyze project drawings, engineering specs, and scopes to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates.
• Create detailed pricing for concrete restoration and structural rehabilitation projects.
• Lead bid preparation and submissions, including take-offs, technical documentation, and pricing strategy.
• Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to secure accurate and timely pricing.
• Evaluate risks, project feasibility, and make bid/no-bid recommendations.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to align estimating with strategic and profitability goals.
• Track and manage scope changes and revisions through the pre-construction phase.

Project Management Support (as needed):

• Assist with the project hand-off and initial planning stages.
• Support preliminary scheduling, budgeting, and subcontractor coordination.
• Conduct occasional job site visits to align field operations with estimating assumptions.
• Communicate with clients, consultants, and field teams during early project phases.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of experience estimating concrete restoration, parking structures, or high-rise structural rehab projects.
• Educational background in Structural or Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
• Deep understanding of concrete systems, restoration methods, and structural repair techniques.
• Proficient in reading construction drawings and using estimating software and tools (e.g., Bluebeam, Excel).
• Valid Ontario driver's license and local travel availability.

Assets

• PMP certification or formal project management training.
• Experience with formwork systems, tilt-up, or cast-in-place concrete.
• Familiarity with Ontario Building Code and relevant construction safety standards.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.
