Aplin is excited to partner with a leading Edmonton law firm to hire a motivated and detail-oriented Corporate Legal Assistant to join a dynamic legal team.

Document Preparation & Legal Support
- Draft and prepare legal correspondence, agreements, and related documents.
- Conduct searches (Land Titles, Registries, PPR, SPIN, etc.) and navigate ALF database efficiently.
- Prepare annual returns and maintain Minute Book documentation.
- Adhere to all legal processes, Law Society of Alberta regulations, and established corporate practices.
- Provide general administrative support, including expense reimbursement preparation and ad hoc requests from the supervising Partner.
- Manage daily email filing, document organization, conflict searches, and file opening/closing processes.
- Ensure all client correspondence and documents are uploaded to the document management system (NetDocs).
- Coordinate all incoming and outgoing mail and maintain up-to-date client file lists.
- Schedule meetings, appointments, and manage key deadlines and court dates as directed.
- Execute instructions promptly and accurately, both verbal and written.
- Assist with client billing and invoicing as per supervisor's direction.
- Process write-offs and ensure proper handling of trust funds according to firm and Law Society Procedures.
- Input time entries, track tasks, and maintain accurate accounting data in the firm's software system (Acumin).
- Draft routine client correspondence and respond to basic inquiries as directed.
- Maintain professionalism in all communications, ensuring a positive client experience.
- Liaise effectively with other departments including Accounting, Corporate Services, Litigation Support, and Operations.
- Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and practice group meetings.
- Support firm initiatives and contribute to a positive, collaborative work environment.
- Legal Assistant Diploma or equivalent experience.
- 3+ years of experience in corporate law.
- Exposure to real estate law considered an asset.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ALF, NetDocs, Acumin, and legal database systems.
