Canadian Executive Search Group Inc. is seeking an experienced Instrumentation and controls Engineer for a clients ongoing project
Responsibilities
- Hands-on Engineering to develop, implement and service all aspects of product development, delivery, and service, including:
- Supporting the building of test equipment and products by assisting in designing the controls component selection and interconnection design between panels
- Developing, troubleshooting and improving of the control system including program and HMI
- Working with the other engineering disciplines within the company and clients to ensure coordinated designs
- Field installation support, test and maintenance of the Control system and software
- Assist in preparing automation and instrumentation related designs, drawings and programming specifications and SOPs
- Component and system troubleshooting and maintenance of the electrical, mechanical, and control systems
- Support daily preventative maintenance of products in the test facility and customers' sites
- Support designing, implementation of the process network including process and SCADA/HMI networks, historian and the remote access
- Generate process reporting tools
- Participate in creating process and control system with high fidelity level
- Provide innovative solutions for process control, diagnostics and simulation
- Ensure product assembly and service milestones are met on time. Provide timely updates to the team and the Project Management Office. Be flexible to re-arrange the tasks based on the Corporate's objectives
- Assist the development team in establishing testing capabilities
- Help to promote and expand service capabilities and scope
- Proactively pursue strong positive relationships with all company staff. Promote a culture of accountability. Promote an atmosphere exuding confidence, excitement, and enthusiasm
Required Skills
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering
- Registers as a professional engineer in Ontario.is an asset
- Having a Process Functional Safety certification is an asset
- Minimum 5 years' Industrial Control System programming experience
- Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience working with electrical, automation, process equipment design, installation and commissioning
- Experience in the Hydrogen or Oil & gas industry is an asset
- Siemens PLC (S7-1500 series) design and programming experience
- Experience of Siemens Safety PLC programming in process industries is an asset
- WinCC HMI/SCADA development and design experience
- DCS /PCS and ESD systems programming for process plant experience is an asset
- Industrial communication experience: Profinet, Profi-safe, Modbus RTU/TCP, HART, Ethernet
- Experience with OT cybersecurity ISA/IEC 62443 is an asset
- Previous Experience using EPLAN software for designing schematics is an asset
- Experience of working in Hazardous area (explosive atmosphere) is an asset
- Experience of programming languages such as SCL, VBA, C
- Familiarity with SQL is an asset
