You'll play a key role in managing debt collection matters across multiple practice areas. This is an opportunity to be a go-to resource for the team—working with both clients and colleagues to deliver high-quality results.

- Drafting demand letters, Civil Claims, Statements of Claim, and Originating Applications
- Managing service of documents, applications, and drafting Applications and Orders in foreclosure proceedings
- Preparing caveats for condo fee collections, default judgments, writs of enforcement, and bills of cost
- Conducting enforcement and asset searches (bankruptcy, PPR, corporate, Equifax, internet)
- Coordinating with skip tracers for location efforts (e.g., debtors, employers, bank accounts)
- Managing and tracking repayment arrangements with debtors
- Handling trust fund transactions and preparing garnishee summons
- Drafting affidavits and other supporting court documentation
- 5+ years of experience in debt recovery and foreclosure
- In-depth understanding of Alberta Rules of Court and civil enforcement procedures
- Familiarity with key legislation: Civil Enforcement Act, Personal Property Securities Act, Law of Property Act, and Condominium Property Act
- Legal Assistant or Paralegal Diploma from a recognized program
- Proactive, self-sufficient, and organized, with sharp attention to detail
- A true team player with a positive, solutions-focused approach
- Comfortable managing deadlines and shifting priorities
- Experience with Residential Tenancies Act, Mobile Home Sites Tenancies Act, and HOA fee enforcement is an asset
