About the Role - Highbury Canco is seeking an experienced and dynamic Buyer to join our Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement aspect of the Supply Chain, ensuring the timely and cost-effective supply of all MRO materials for production. This position also involves collaboration with existing and potential customers and new business opportunities.

Responsibilities:

  • Source and cost all MRO materials required for the plant.
  • Track and report cost savings initiatives.
  • Handle purchases of materials and services for the plant.
  • Negotiate contracts with vendors and manage contract renewals.
  • Ensure quoting policies are established, maintained, and adhered to for all purchases and services.
  • Source all purchase order requisitions and non-inventory purchases.
  • Control inventory in Central Stores.
  • Maintain min/max levels for inventory items in Central Stores.
  • Create purchase orders for approved requisitions for inventory and non-inventory items.
  • Ensure quoting policies are followed for non-capital services.
  • Review existing contracts and develop negotiation strategies for new contracts, renewals, and extensions.
  • Achieve cost savings targets on non-capital purchases and services.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Maintain high inventory accuracy.
  • Minimize stockout rates.
  • Optimize days inventory on hand.
  • Reduce emergency purchases.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of procurement experience or equivalent.
  • Excellent computer skills (MS Office); SAP experience preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Knowledge of strategic sourcing, process improvement, lean manufacturing, financial analysis, and logistics.
  • Team player.
