About the Position
Timbercreek Capital is seeking a Senior Analyst for the Corporate team in our Finance department. The Senior Analyst will primarily be responsible for assisting in preparation of financial statements and management reporting, preparing, and posting journal entries, maintaining, and updating financial/investment transactions, and performing reconciliation for various accounts. The Senior Analyst will also monitor liquidity, manage bank account openings and closures, and administer online bank account access. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing monthly management reports, quarterly financial statements and board presentations of corporate entities, including related supporting schedules
- Prepare and post journal entries for corporate entities
- Daily cash monitoring of bank accounts to ensure adequate liquidity is available
- Make recommendations on borrowing requirements and/or short-term investing of excess cash
- Prepare documentation required to facilitate drawdown/repayment under credit facilities
- Prepare quarterly compliance certificates related to credit facilities
- Assist in quarterly forecasts and annual budget for corporate entities, including updating supporting schedules
- Administrator for online bank account access
- Management of bank account documentation including updating of signatories and addition/closure of bank accounts as required
- Participate in annual audits of the corporate entities
- Maintain and develop controls to ensure the integrity of the accounting systems and accuracy of information; ensure internal control procedures are followed
- Co-ordinate and prioritize daily work to meet deadlines
- Identify, analyze, respond to, and resolve issues and problems as they arise
- Work with team members to improve operational efficiency and client services
- Deal with internal and external clients in a professional and timely manner, being able to respond to and resolve queries or escalate where necessary
- Participate in special projects as required
Education and Experience
- Post secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Business, or related area of study
- CPA designation obtained or in progress
- 3-5 years experience in the financial services industry specializing in accounting/financial reporting
- Real estate industry experience is considered an asset
- Knowledge of mortgage lending practices is an asset
- Experience with investment management systems such as Yardi is an asset

- Advanced skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
